PIGEON SHOOT RULES

What is a Pigeon Shoot?

Each team will consist of five members. One member may be an adult leader. Each shooter will shoot at twenty-five clay pigeons. The shooter will fire one round at each target. Targets are provided; however, each participant must provide his own shells and gun. Sharing of guns at the event will slow down the process. Each participant should have had a gun safety course or have earned the shooting merit badge.

What to bring to the event

1. Shotgun for each shooter

2. Shotgun shells for each shooter (25)

3. Eye and ear protection for each shooter

4. Registration receipt

5. Warm clothes and a snack (will be done sometime in the fall)

At the event

Range rules & etiquette

1. Remember the three essential rules for safe gun handling. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Always keep your finger off the trigger until your ready to shoot. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.

2. Teams waiting their turn to shoot should keep their shotguns in the racks provided

3. Be familiar with the operation of  your shotgun before attempting to use it.

4. No horseplay on or near the firing line
