OPERATION ON TARGET RULES

ON-TARGET is a unique Varsity Scout activity where a Varsity Team takes a large signal mirror to the top of a mountain (or a tall building) that you choose and attempts to capture beams of sunlight with your sun-gun and flash them to other Varsity Teams located on other mountains or buildings around the area. In July, teams from all over the western US create a network of teams from the mexican border to the Canadian border.

By your Varsity team getting together with other teams in your district to form a local network of signal mirrors stations on top of mountains or buildings we will be linked together with other district networks through-out the council to form a state wide network in ever widening circles to illuminate the whole area with the light of Varsity Scouting.

Operation On Target has come to symbolize our efforts in Varsity Scouting to be ON-TARGET with our program as we try to encourage each other to seek greater heights in our lives; to let our light and the light of Scouting shine forth through our example to others and to set, work for and achieve lofty personal and team goals.
