RENDEZVOUS CONTEST

Each Team or Crew, upon completion of registration at check -in, will receive a card with the different event areas listed. This passport is your admittance into the different program area activities. Scores will be kept on the passport and turned in at the end of the day on Saturday. Do not lose the card. Only one will be issued!

TRADING BLANKET

There will be a trading blanket set up for your participation. The Trading Blanket will have a wide variety of mountain man items for trade or sale on the Trading Blanket. You should bring items to trade for items on the blanket.
 
SERVICE OUTPOST

A service outpost will be setup and manned in the headquarters area. Teams and crews will be assigned to do service projects at Ransburg in small groups rather than as one large group. Each team/crew should check-in at the Service Outpost at their earliest convenience to receive a specific service assignment. Points are awarded for active participation in these projects and each team/crew is required to participate in a minimum of one.
 
DUTCH OVEN COOK-OFF
 
The purpose of this activity is to give Varsity/Venture Scouts an opportunity to show their Dutch Oven cooking skills and to learn from fellow Scouts. The Dutch Oven is the unofficial cooking pot of the Mountain Man Rendezvous, so let’s show everyone how the mountain man cooked their meals and have fun at the same time. We are including general information and cooking rules so that everyone is using the same game plan. So plan on lots of fun. General Information: We will be using the guidelines of the International Dutch Oven Society so that you can see how other similar competitions are run. The cook-off will be held May 13, 2006 at Ransburg.
 
Schedule of Events:
 
‚ 10:30AM -10:45AM, Registration check & Recipe turn in
‚ 10:45AM -1:15PM, Prepare & Cooking of dish
‚ 1:15PM -1:30PM, Judging of dish, Site cleanup
‚ 1:30PM Return to camp sites with your meal

CRACKER BARREL

There will be a cracker barrel session with camp commissioners for all Team Captains and Crew Leaders on Friday evening. Adult leaders should accompany their Team Captains and Crew Leaders. It is very important that all Team Captains and Crew Leaders attend the cracker barrel as important updates, changes, and information will be relayed to them. It is then their responsibility to communicate this information to their teams and crews.

FLAG CEREMONIES There will be a flag ceremony on Saturday mornings. All participants should be in attendance for this ceremony.
 
Clean-up and Departure
 
CAMPSITE CLEAN-UP Each unit will completely police their camping area before leaving. THEN the Camp Commissioner will inspect the campsite and check you out before you leave. Clean up all trash (even old litter), replace ground cover, etc. Leave your camp site as undisturbed as possible. After all, we are Scouts and are more experienced in these matters than most individuals. The team/crew leaders are responsible for seeing these rules are followed.
  
CHECK-OUT Each team/crew should send two runners to the camp commissioner when the team is ready for campsite inspection and check-out. From there, someone will be dispatched to inspect your camp.

VEHICLES As with arrival, only one equipment vehicle will be allowed into camp to pick up your team gear. All equipment to be loaded in the vehicle should be stacked and prepared prior to the vehicle coming in to pick it up.
